When searching for a map, the search engine seems to do a fuzzy search, presumably to correct misspellings and similar. However, this can give completely incorrect results. The example that I discovered today is that when searching for cow or cows, the search results are swamped by aliased matches for Colombia, coastal, community, Colorado and every word starting with "co" under the sun. I also tried putting quote marks around the search term to see if that would make a difference. My own cow map is essentially undiscoverable, and I'm pretty sure there are a couple more cow maps, but I can't prove that for the reported reason. This likely affects other (short) words as well. My suggestion is that if there's a map that contains the exact word as spelled, it's prioritized in the results. A secondary issue is that maps are marked with robots noindex (except I guess verified maps) which makes discoverability (in general) of maps through regular search engines impossible as well. Not sure why that decision was made.
