Feature requests

The title should be self-explanatory, but the point is that it would be cool if you could add a way to sort your own created maps into folders, like on Discord servers. Especially if you have created a lot of maps, it's easy to lose track. Another cool sorting function would be to be able to choose whether the maps (whether in the folder or not) should be sorted alphabetically upwards or downwards, just like in online stores (by price or date).

I'd love to see a built-in Satellite Mode in GeoGuessr, allowing players to explore and play using satellite imagery instead of standard Street View. Currently, some players use third-party scripts or other external tools to achieve this, but having it natively integrated would create a more seamless and engaging experience. Why it's Useful: Would allow for unique challenges, such as recognizing landscapes, coastlines, and cities from above. Useful for educational purposes, teaching geography from a different perspective. Adds more variety to gameplay, especially for custom maps like airports, McDonald's locations, or Instituto Cervantes centers. Removes the needs for external scripts, making it accessible to all players. I believe this would be a fantastic addition to the game and would love to see it considered. Thanks for your time!

Many community-made maps only use official Google coverage. There's no 100% reliable way to make a map that only uses official coverage today, because Google frequently breaks coverage. Even if map authors pin every location to a specific date using a Pano ID, the pano can shift, and GeoGuessr will fall back to loading whatever the default location is at that coordinate­­­­­­--even if it's unofficial. For these cases, it would be great if map authors could configure a map as being official-only. GeoGuessr could then use the new Maps API sources: [GOOGLE] filter to only load official coverage, even if a Pano ID was deleted. This could be a simple flag that only applies in-game, but it could also apply in the map maker, allowing players to handpick quality coverage more easily.

Recently, bugs have been fixed on "My Maps" page, which is great ! However, the page is still not handy to use and here are some changes that are needed so we finally have easy access to all maps ! Sort maps by button (choices) : Alphabetical, Date (newest to oldest), Date (oldest to newest), Popularity (number of games played/likes, as you want) By default, I would put "Date (newest to oldest)". Currently, it's "Date(oldest to newest)" Research bar to find the map you want in a few seconds

I can't believe we still need to point this out. It took months of many members of the community pointing this out on the #feedback channel to get GeoGuessr to delete the largest fake "A Diverse World" map...when it reached the top 10 maps by likes. The smaller fake maps are now catching up again. Even if you are, as you say, discussing how to approach this problem in general, which for some reason is a discussion that requires months of time, this is a pretty easy temporary fix. It's to GeoGuessr's benefit to not have the fake ADWs around—nearly all of them are low quality, polygonal maps for which when a novice player plays it because they think that's the good map to play, they'll think the quality of GeoGuessr has gone down.

Hi GG team, I've recently started to take the game seriously and have started to build up a bank of training maps for various different things, from European area codes to Indian languages or just different world maps which have a different tilt. Already, finding maps can become unnecessarily time consuming. Could you please add some kind of structure within liked maps which enables players to organise those they have saved?

I've seen a similiar request like it, but with folders of maps created by your own. With popularity of "A Learnable Meta" script and variety of duels maps my Liked Maps Tab had become a mess. I wish we could create folders in our "Liked Maps" tab to sort out practice, fun maps etc.

Currently only the person uploading the map is listed as an author, it would be great if you could add additional people as authors. I am currently working on a map with others and this would be a nice feature to have

If you currently want to generate any challenge seeds in a given order, you need to generate until you find the right one. Same if you have more than 5 points in your map. Could it be possible for the map owner to generate a seed with a set of 5 selected points in a chosen order ?
