The score calculation on world maps is inconsistent. The score calculation depends on whether world maps include locations at the South Pole and Northern Canada close to the North Pole. Mapmakers do not intend for these locations to appear, but add these boundary locations to increase the overall scores on the map slightly (as well as the 5K radius). Other mapmakers do not add these locations, thus the map scoring is slightly different despite the general extent of the distribution being the same.
Please add a checkbox in the mapmaking screen to opt for "World Map Scoring" as the calculation basis for the map, so that scores were calculated as if locations were placed all over the globe. If the option is not checked, using the current calculation for regional maps is perfectly fine. Thanks!
