Why cant we talk to the opponents?

can we please have a like live chat option for while we in game to talk to our opponent not voice chat but game chat i enjoy chatting to the other player whilst in game

Not someting we will currently do until we have proper moderation in place for this kind of open chat feature.

People will trash talk and guess shame their opponents, bad idea imo.

It could work the same as on chess.com where you first have to accept a chat request in order for the opponent to send messages, so if you dont want any messages you can just ignore that (or turn it off after you decide you no longer want their messages), but i'd really like the option to ask my opponent what made him go in e.g. a specific area in brazil.
