I've been playing GeoGuessr for a week now and I've noticed that whenever I play ranked I only get opponents who have a much higher level than me, making it impossible to play ranked. I would be happy to get into rounds with opponents of the same level.

I often play No Move Duels with a friend and we've noticed that opponents with a high Elo are often assigned as opponents in matchmaking.

Let's take today as an example: We're currently trying to move up from Gold 1...our team rating is 716.

Why with everything that's good did we have to play the last two games of our 10 placement matches against a team of champion players (1381 & 1284 rating)? That's almost double our rating.

The players on the opposing team had a Team Duels No Move winrate of 79.35% (92 games) & 71.43% (70 games)

It's really not very motivating to have to lose a good ongoing promotion series against such a clearly superior opposing team.

So please have a look into your matchmaking system...
