Minimum round time for Moving Duels
Average At Best (YT)
HATE HATE HATE when people play 5 second NMPZ in moving rounds. DON'T PLAY MOVING IF YOU WANT TO INSTA-GUESS!
My suggestion is to have a minimum round time of, for example 60 seconds, in moving duels so at least I have time to move and find some info.
I lose so many moving duels to this that is just isn't fun to play moving any more.

not possible, if you're slow to identify the place, your fault mate, can't blame the other person for knowing better, time guessing is a strategy in GG

Why would anyone in their right mind give their opponent more time to guess if they know where something is? Basically, you want GeoGuessr welfare.

AND.....add 10 seconds extra if you live in Australia!....the internet speed for moving is $#$##@@!!!!! :) sometimes this limits the moving speed to such an extent, you are disadvantaged by not snap guessing....but agree it's annoying!!

Yeah, I think maybe going something between 30 and 40 seconds minimum round time (unless both players guessed) would be a great first compromise between the current format and Better Moving Duels which is probably too different for the devs so far.
I played one guy yesterday who insta-sent every round and although I luckily beat him, mainly thanks to quickly finding a Vancouver area code when he went Maine, it was just not fun. I play Moving to move and I guess if this style of play became commonplace, you'd probably see lots of Moving players leave the game.
Note that while I find this style of play annoying, I mainly blame the game, not the player and that's why I'd love to see such a change. It would be a nice setting for party games as well, even in No Move, to give players more time; right now the only slightly similar choice would be to increase the time after guesses.

I like to move in countries where I'm able to use info meaningfully (e.g. USA because I can read and know place names, highway shields, license plates, etc), but like to insta-guess in countries where I can't use info meaningfully (e.g. Bangladesh because I can't read Bengali, etc).
If I can't use info meaningfully to region-guess, but I already know the country, then what's the point of moving? But I can still enjoy playing Moving duels because there are many countries where I can use info meaningfully to region-guess, and hence will move.

I insta guess on Moving when I think I have an advantage over my opponent (example: Argentina, since im Argentinian) But this also doesnt make sense bcz, for example, you might get a round with the Monaco flag in Monaco. Then what? Not much to do.

I think 1 min MINIMUM is a bit long. But I also think some type of thing needs to be put in to eliminate the NMPZers from trying to force the game to be theirs.
I had an idea where depending how fast the opening plonk is, decides how long the following player has to guess. If its more than 30 seconds, regular 15 S timer. If they plonk in less than 15 S but more than 5 S, its a 30 S timer. If its within 5 S its an additional 55 S timer. This would demotivate instasending, as you essentially lose 15-25 seconds by not waiting at least 15 seconds to send.
