Ideas for improving in-game tournament

- Consider Rotating Game Modes in Tournaments: It might be beneficial to rotate game modes like NM and NMPZ into the tournament lineup. It has shown to me that devs think the current system doesn’t need changes, as there are no many active players in these tournaments. However, I think the cause and effect is in reverse. I believe that tournaments only in moving format have discouraged many high-level players from participating, as individuals often have preferences for specific game modes. Introducing a rotation among these three modes could attract more players by allowing them to compete in formats they are better in.
- Increase Rewards for Tournament Success: I recommend increasing the rewards for winning or placing in the top four of tournaments, such as by awarding purple coins. There’s no indication that this would cause huge loss of income, especially given the facts that developers have previously giving out purple coins for free through various instances (such as quests, daily rewards, Christmas gifts, and sponsoring third-party cash prize tournaments). Offering more substantial rewards such as purple coins will be beneficiary as it will be an amazing incentive and potentially boosting participation in tournaments.
Thanks for your time! Geo devs.

We have done a first revamp of Tournaments where they are now actually visible! As well as added more slots and NM/NMPZ settings.
This took longer than expected but it was quite a bit of development needed in order to rework this. So therefore we have not taken rewards into account or possible better UI.
So the first test now we will analyze if the number of participants for the tournaments increases or if they go down for the next couple of weeks. Then we will see if we will make any further iterations. It might be that we swap the game mode settings around every week in between the days, or add more. But before adding more and more slots, we want to see how many plays them.
For suggested Maps feel free to add them here - https://www.geoguessr.com/support/feature-requests/p/tournaments-revamp-maps-settings

We have implemented so we can have NM/NMPZ tournaments. We will look into making it easier to locate the tournaments within multiplayer as well. Developing rewards is not something we are planning with a first update since it takes a while to build.
But to be able to schedule additional NM/NMPZ tournaments on top of the current Moving ACW ones, we would need your help for suitable maps. We can take the ones we currently have for Multiplayer in higher divisions, but feel free to update us with which maps you want to see :)
Thanks in advance!

An evening americas time slot would be really appreciated. This time slot would also be available to night owls in europe and morning users in Japan. Maybe something around 8PM Eastern?

Some other ideas to improve tournaments include:
- Move them from unranked page to either Ranked one or create a third tab for tournaments, so it goes Ranked / Tournaments / Unranked
- Either make an infographic with several listed timezones for the tourney schedule or make it show the day and time it will begin.
And since there was a lot of talks about making tourneys more accessible for different time zones here is what I propose. We get 3 moving, 3 nm, 3 nmpz tourneys and make each one of them for every target time zone (green) and somewhat available timezone (yellow).
I understand this is a waaaay more tournaments, then we used to have, but my understanding is those can be programmed far in advance and don't require any maintenance after being programmed. So I don't really see a reason to cut down a number of those. This schedule is moe weekend heavy to make it more accessible.
I don't think this is the perfect schedule since it is also more europe heavy and might not be the best for west coast usa, but this is the best I could come up with.

Also consider making the schedule for tournaments a bit clearer. Either by a picture that has several timezones listed. OR. The way it is possible on discord when it shows time for a users timezone. Right now when it says "registration starts in 1 day and 1 hour" it is really annoying to do this math every time and tbh all the tournaments I did play was because people pinged on discord
