We have now put some things into place that will take action on scripted scores on the DC! :)

Longer bans for cheaters in Daily Challenge
Heliks
The Daily Challenge is often the highlight of my mornings. I have no aspiration to be in the top 10, or even top 100, but it could happen, on a good day. Except for the cheaters. As of this moment, 7 of the top 10 clearly cheated. There is little doubt. But nothing is done, this happens day after day. I've reported dozens of such players, but only rarely do I get a message stating that someone has been banned. How overwhelming must the evidence be? Many of these players do not seem to cheat in their duels, so perhaps it's considered a lesser "crime". But it is annoying. Ban these players from the Daily challenge, not Duels or other plays, to discourage such behavior.

Cheating in the daily challenge
Heliks
Today, April 14th, there are at least 8 players in the top 50 that cheated, in most, if not every single round. These are easy to spot, but are there any consequences? It seems not. I report them, all of them, but to my experience, only a fraction of reported players are banned. It's frustrating, much more in team play, but it's also destructive, knowing it has little consequence. Will Geoguessr assign more resources, use AI and try to make the game more fair?

Let AI catch cheaters
Heliks
It should be easy enough, to train AI to catch the most obvious of cheaters, in the Daily Challenge. Isn't it interesting that the number of 25K scores, even by players who have thousands of games on their record, went down by a lot, after the replay option on everyone appeared? Even good players cheat. But AI can learn to catch them. The obvious ones, with 0 steps and 25K after spending less than a minute on each round, are so obviously cheating that they should be banned immediately. No question. And I saw very good players that probably weren't aware that the option was there, cheat, rampantly. It is very frustrating, that so many cheats, and some are very good at it. No obvious close to 5K rounds, or they only cheat when they are in danger of losing. Without improving anti-cheating tools, the number will rise. So to be ahead of the curve, is important.

Let's get spicy.
Cheating in the DC is a smoldering fire that, for whatever reason*, is not being put out.
I'm not just talking about the obvious scripters. I'm also talking about the variety of googlers:
1) those that literally google every round and miss some points because they SUCK, and when they don't have a sign they go wrong continent (special marks for those who google the sign and get wrong country/region with the same town name, bc lol);
2) those that google the sign at (or near) spawn, plonk close, then run up the step counter as though they played authentically;
3) those that scuff a round to try to avoid suspicion (I've seen people google a sign, click the correct small town, then move off to a nearby town instead).
The game is in a sad place. Price is going up, though.
