Unable to publish larger maps

For a little over a week I have not been able to publish maps with more than 50k locations. All of the maps in question have published earlier without issues. What I get is a 504 error code after 60s with this in the response "504 Gateway Time-out".
It happens both in the map maker and by pure API calls. In the map maker it results in the error message "Unable to publish map".
The specific request URL in question: api/v4/user-maps/drafts/{mapId}/publish
It is a very consistent issue. Publishing 45k locations works, but also takes 56-58 seconds, barely making it within the timeout.
This issue stops me from adding Paraguay to all my maps, including An Informed World, A Pro World and A Rainbolt World which are all currently used in competitive duels.

I'm being told Paraguay locations are in fact in the competitive maps. So even if it times out, it looks like the publish eventually succeeds.
I would
really
like the publish operation not to time out though since I cannot tell whether the update succeeded or not. And since my whole process is automated, that puts a spanner in the works.[TNT] TreezErik
additionally, a similar bug: when you make a change to your map and hit publish, it loads infinitely and glitches out, saying that you are editing a draft, but if you refresh the tab and check your map's play page it has been updated despite not appearing to have done so in the editor page
