Macbook overheating

I've been a pro user for quite some time, and I've noticed that the more time passes, the worse the gaming experience for Mac users (Macbook 15 M5). Is it possible that a game running in a browser should overheat the notebook so much? Are you trying to create an app optimized for Macbooks? I think this will be the last year of the renewal, also due to the price increase you imposed at the beginning of 2026. Reluctantly, one of your fans.

Same issue here, it is by far the worse when playing duels, NM specifically. However I have an Intel Macbook Air, 2020 model, updated chrome and 12.5 OS. Sometimes I notice the fans spinning up just having the Multiplayer splash page loaded, but the fact is I dont get stuttering, missed input, input lag, and fans screaming/computer overheating when reviewing a game or when playing challenges or singleplayer. Its something in your duels interface

Thanks for reporting!
Does this happen across GeoGuessr or only during gameplay, and roughly how long it take before the Mac starts getting hot.
Is it certain game modes this happens in or all of them (Classic Maps, Party, Multiplayer etc)?
If possible, could you open Activity Monitor while GeoGuessr is running and send us a screenshot of the CPU tab when the issue is occurring? It would also be helpful if you could test GeoGuessr in another browser and let us know whether you experience the same issue there.

Filip Thanks for your interest. It only happens during online duels; the Mac overheats right from the first few turns. I play the game across multiple browsers, and the problem occurs regardless of which one I use. I'll send the requested screenshot when I can.

Lost in Padania Hey! I was having the same issue (macbook air m4 + firefox). My laptop was being too hot after 3 duels matches that I was feeling like playing duels would damage my laptop, but it was until 4 days ago. I played today and heating was considerably better. There are still some heating but not that crazy. I am not sure it is just me having the solution magically or the team solved the issue.

modejal Good job, buddy! Did you change any settings on Geoguessr or your browser? Because I'm limited to only a few duels a day, otherwise my M5 MacBook would catch fire. Anyway, I think it's inconceivable that a browser game could become more popular than Cyberpunk.
