Lag / black screen / freezing screen when playing any type of multiplayer

- continuous black or half-loaded blurred screens
- lagging navigation, or not even able to navigate because when I click on a piece of road the screen won't move
- often instead of the pointing arrow I see a white-ish rectangle that makes it impossible to click on a road further, until I use arrow keys to navigate
- gpu running at 100% like crazy
And other similar issues constantly happen when I play any type of multiplayer. The moment I start a duel, my gpu goes nuclear but if I start a solo game on a classic or community map, there are no issues at all. I am losing entire matches because half the time I don't see anything and have to pick countries blind.
Does anyone experience issues during multiplayer only? I have a fast and reliable ethernet connection, I use a mac m1 pro with vivaldi browser, I have tried out chrome, safari, too, but the situation is basically the same.

Is it the same issue if you try on another device (if possible of course)?
Do you have any screen-recordings on the issue you can provide?
Have you tried some of the other troubleshooting as per - https://geoguessr.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/206000056716-troubleshooting-for-common-issues ?
If so and the issue still remains, can you provide the following:
- Device Type (e.g., Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Mobile): Mac M1 pro
- Operating System & Versions (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android):
Browser Type & Version (e.g., Chrome 120, Firefox 115, Edge 105):
- Screen Resolution:
- Graphics Card (if known):
- Any browser extensions/scripts/plugins that are enabled:
- Screenrecording of the problem your are encountering
- Link to summary/replay of the game where the issue occurred.

Hi Filip,
Thanks for reaching out.
I tried 3 different browsers (Vivaldi v8, Chrome v148, Safari - in incognito mode, so scripts/extensions are disabled by default).
As described above, I load up a duel, from the second round my gpu starts going nuclear and game performance quickly deteriorates.

The image becomes blurry, clicking forward on the path is unresponsive then finally run into a black screen.
This happens in basically every single multiplayer mode/match, solo classic/community maps have no issue. In fact, e.g. if I play a duel and my laptop is going crazy, if I start another duel, the issues continue without any break, but if I load up a solo game, the laptop immediately goes back into normal operating mode.
m1 mac pro, 26.5 tahoe os, 32gb ram
