Open geoguessr holiday challenge in Google Chrome
Attempt to play challenge
Game becomes too laggy to move, causes browser to become unresponsive
Only task manager killing that specific tab lets me get out of this, but the clock keeps ticking... so I lose
Please consider disabling the snow feature or doing something so that it's not so disruptive. Currently unplayable as is.

Yeah it is laggy, but your experience sounds quite a bit worse than mine. I find that it becomes playable after I give my laptop some time to breathe.
If you're not able to get a decent guess down because of the lag, hopefully you at least still get the gift at the end. But you'll have to decide whether it's worth the aggravation or not. The basic design of this year's holiday challenge feels similar (identical?) to the one from 2023, so I think what we have now is what we can expect.
