Friend cannot join closed club with link

I created a private club for our group of friends.
I couldn't find any invite button in the UI, so I sent them the link that appears when clicking the share button under the club logo (and when entering the chat)
They are not able to join using the link, it just says "the club is closed".
We have pro unlimited memberships.
Is this normal? Am I suppose to invite them a different way?

Thank you Filip!
To add my friend I ended up having to open the Club to public with join approval, invite and approve them, and set it back to private afterwards.
I will test the fix next time I need to add someone!
